Our Purpose
Our Purpose Statement Providence Presbyterian Church is a Christ-centered family where we discover answers together which leads us to a life that shares our faith with those who are longing for a place to call home. Providence Presbyterian Church Providence is a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). As part of the Presbyterian Church, we believe it is important to be in a connectional relationship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Is a Christ-centered Family We believe that we are not alone on this journey of faith. God has called us to live out the life and love of his Son, Jesus Christ, and the only way we can authentically do this is by being part of the Body of Christ: the church. Where We Discover Answers Together To truly be part of a church is the willingness to learn. We believe each day God gives us the opportunity to learn something new about Him, this world we live in, and ourselves. We also believe that true learning does not take the place when someone tries to "spoon feed" the answers. Learning is about discovery. We also believe that learning about the faith is achieved both individually and corporately. Which Leads Us to A Life -- God calls us to a life of servanthood. Everything we do, we must do to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. That Shares Our Faith -- The good news of the gospel is not to be hidden but shared with the world. God has empowered each and every one of us to proclaim the hope and promise found in our Lord Jesus Christ. With Those Longing For A Place to Call Home -- What the church has is what the world longs for, whether the world realizes it or not. When people are trying to find purpose and meaning in life, we believe Providence is truly a place that has been waiting for them, longing for the day when they decide it is time to come home. Providence was chartered as a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) by Cherokee Presytery in September, 2003. |
