A WORK IN PROGRESS...
I am becoming more and more aware that conscious memories are not permanent; my own anyway.
Memories are affected by so many factors after they are formed in our minds. Recent research suggests that even the act of remembering your memories has an effect on those memories themselves.
You will remember, perhaps, that when we gathered as a whole congregation in July we began to establish a time line of the Providence Spiritual Journey. I have included it below for your review, corrections and your input. As you will notice, our collective memory is incomplete so please help fill in the blanks with whatever you believe to be significant in our shared story.
This faith family memory is important. It is our story. It is God’s story lived out through us and many others. We cannot truly know where we are or where we are going if we have no memory of where we’ve already been.

January 2000 - John Hinkle called as organizing pastor
March 2000 - First worship service-John and Leila Hinkle’s home
September 10, 2000 - First worship service at Hiram Elementary School
June 2001 - First Vacation Bible School
September 11, 2001 - Special Service for terrorist attack
November 2001 - Symbolic walk from Hiram Elementary School to Adventist Church

May 2003 - Michael Pegram accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
June 2003 - Julie Davis Fuller begins as student intern

May 2010 - Sandi Miller Reaffirmed Faith
June 2010 - First Senior High Youth Montreat Conference
