When a person joins a congregation, he or she is claiming membership in the church universal. (In Old English, called the holy catholic Church, which means "unity of all Christians."). Different congregations and denominations offer distinctive ways to worship and hold services, and we all seek to demonstrate the unity we have in Jesus Christ.
We encourage you to seek a congregation that offers a manner of worship that helps you to focus your mind and heart on the One who gives you life. Seek to join a church that offers programs that meet your and your family's spiritual needs. Seek to join a church that helps you to discover your spiritual gifts and gives you opportunities for serving Christ in this world.
There are three ways to join Providence Presbyterian Church
Transfer of Letter
If you are presently a member of another church, you may join Providence by transfer of letter (moving your membership from one church to another).
Please contact the pastor by giving him the name and address of your former church. The pastor will send a formal letter of transfer.
Reaffirming of Faith
If you have not been a member of a church or you are no longer on a church roll but have been baptized, you may join Providence through reaffirming your faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Affirmation of Faith
If you have not previously confessed faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior but wish to do so, you may join the church by affirming your faith.
